The Salamoun Children`s Centers were founded by the Šalomoun Organization in 2003 as an independent non-profit organization. Currently, two preschool centers are open in Prague 9.
Characteristics of Satalice Children's Center
Classrooms of Satalice Preschool are located at two neighbouring streets in Satalice, at U Obory Street and Pod Poštou. The preschool is near the woods and every day children have the opportunity to spend time in the well-equipped garden. The main goal is to lead children to a healthy lifestyle. One day a week is devoted to sports. We go swimming at the swimming school pool or play sports games in the gym. We also go to see special plays at the theatre, go on outdoor trips outside of Prague, or host interesting guests.
We introduce the English language daily. Native speakers teach in all our centers. Their main task is to make English familiar to the children by bringing the language naturally into their environment. Audiovisual teaching methods are used during lessons as well as all modern ESL methods proper for the pre-school age children. We create environment, where both Czech and International children can learn together.

Characteristics of Horni Pocernice Children's Center
Horni Pocernice Salamoun Preschool Center is in a quiet location of Krovinovo namesti, on the ground floor of a house with a nice garden neighbouring a fenced park with sheep. Beside its pleasant location in the green environment, it also has a family atmosphere given by a limited number of children in this center and also by a sensitive approach of teachers.
Parallel to the Czech Curricula, English language is taught in short lessons both in the morning and in the afternoon, following the same themes. Modern communication methods with maximum use of visuals and games are used in the lessons that are inspiring and entertaining for the child. The native speaker continues speaking in English with children for the rest of the time and so the child is in a bilingual environment most of the time and learns English in natural situations of everyday life. Very soon the children are familiar with elementary everyday English.

The daily schedule is set in a framework which respects the children's biorhythms, their needs for activity and rest and keeping three hour intervals between meals at most. Children with signs of infectious diseases are asked to stay home until recovery.
Cooperation with parents
In cooperation with the parents we prepare events for the children from the neighbourhood. Last year we organized competitions in flying kites and playing marbles, Christmas program in the old citizens home, we helped in preparation of the Children`s Day event.
Studying English with the Kindergarten Program
For children older than five years of age. Participating in this program requires a good cooperation with the family. Children learn to read in English which is required before enrolling in International elementary schools. Other subjects, such as preschool science and math foundations, are taught in English without translation, according to the English speaking countries' curriculum.
Our preschool cooperates with the International Christian School. The school assists in supervising how to educate Czech children in English.
